The 14th Annual Homer Yacht Club -Land’s End Regatta
Participants and spectators of the 2010 HYC - Land’s End Regatta enjoyed fine sailing conditions and great close racing on Saturday, with the first four vessels finishing within a minute of one another, and some close finishes among other vessels as well. That’s the way we like it!
The Sunday race suffered from extreme light air and an adverse tidal current at the start and was nearly called off. The race was allowed to play out after a long discussion among race committee members who hoped that variable conditions throughout the course would level the playing field by the end. Unfortunately that proved not to be the case, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

Thanks also to Sandy Mazen and the Coast Guard Auxiliary for having their boating safety materials and Courtesy Marine Safety Examination sign-up available to the public at Land’s End throughout the event.
