The 14th Annual Homer Yacht Club-Land’s End Regatta

. . . will take place Friday, June 25th through Sunday, June 27th 2010.

Registration opens on Friday evening at 6pm at the Land’s End Resort Harbor Room, with Club merchandise for sale, appetizers, and no-host bar. Instructional seminars begin at 7pm, followed by a race skippers’ meeting.

The yacht racing takes place Saturday and Sunday, with one race each afternoon. The start/finish line is off the end of the Spit with great race viewing opportunities from both Land’s End Resort and the beach. Club merchandise will be for sale on the resort’s large outside deck, weather permitting, otherwise inside.

An awards banquet and HYC fundraising auction will take place on Sunday evening in the Quarterdeck Room of Land’s End Resort.

Thank you also to our volunteers who were up on the deck at Land’s End Resort running the start sequence and taking finish times, and the crew who set and retrieved our regatta buoys.

This year’s HYC – Land’s End Regatta was another great success, with 12 vessels racing. Both days’ races were blessed with sunny skies and brisk breezes. Strong tidal currents in the latter half of the races each day added an extra challenge, particularly for those boats slower by design, who had to fight the currents longer. Congratulations to all!
